So. Effing. Good.

Last month, while battling a nasty cold, I came to the conclusion that Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil really does live up to the hype (4.5 stars with more than ONE THOUSAND reviews on sephora.com).

You know when you’re blowing your nose so often that the skin around your nostrils gets rubbed raw, and it’s dry, and it hurts? Mine gets so sensitive to the touch that even splashing water on my face hurts.

My usual heavyduty face moisturizers weren’t doing the job done, so, out of desperation (and perhaps loopy from the cold meds), I tracked this down, busted it open, and patted about a half a dropper of the oil on the skin around my nose, nostrils and mouth.

AHHHH! Instant relief. Seaberry Oil BRINGS IT big time in the moisture department.

“Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil is a precious blend of pure oils—seaberry, cranberry seed, camellia seed, grapeseed, and sweet almond—packed with nourishing omegas to preserve a youthful appearance. The lightweight formula absorbs quickly for a boost of vital moisture.”

sephora.com

Highlighted ingredients:

  • Seaberry Oil: A powerful antioxidant rich in moisturizing omegas 3, 6, 7, and 9 noted for protecting the skin from aging free radicals.
  • Cranberry Seed Oil: Maintains the skin’s elasticity and smoothness.
  • Camellia Seed Oil: Helps to retain moisture and promote smooth, supple skin.

Ingredients:
Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Camellia Oleifera Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Hippophae Rhamnoides Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate, Fragrance, Bht, Linalool, Limonene, Citral, Coumarin, Geraniol

It’s rich in antioxidants and omegas, and made for normal, dry and sensitive skin types, so peeps across the land can use it! — even if you have oily skin. I saw more than a few reviews from people with oily skin raving about it on the Sephora website.

Now it’s an everyday part of my routine. Every morning and night after I wash my face, I work about three big drops using the included dropper onto my skin while it’s damp. Sometimes I’ll also mix one or two drops into my trusty Clarins Hydra-Essentiel Silky Cream as well, which is another great combo IMO.

It’s $52 for a 1.6-oz. bottle, which is a pretty good size. I think it’s enough to last a long while.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Yeeeesss!!! I’ve loved this oil since I first picked it up years ago! Honestly, I got it because I’m a cheapskate and it looked to me like the best value. You get a huge bottle (50 ml vs the usual 30) for a little less than what you’d typically pay for a tiny bottle of facial oil at that time. Using it though, I discovered the same things you did. My skin just drank it up!

Thank you so much for showing it love, Karen! Let’s hope Fresh never discontinues it (unlike my other fave, RIP Thunderbird mascara).

      Hi Shantinn,

I hope this one is around forever because it makes my skin so happy. Have you tried any of the other Seaberry items, btw? I just started using the makeup removing oil and the body cream (got turned onto them after falling in love with the face oil)!

I got hit with the cold for two weeks and turned to a face oil too! I stared at my body oil – it’s 100% jojoba – and put three drops on my face. Worked miracles in making sure my face was protected. Saw my esthetician yesterday and she said my skin felt amazing. Win!
Have you tried any other face oils? I like that I accidentally stumbled on a 2-in-1 with my jojoba oil. LOL.

I’ve tried the Laura Mercier one and the Chantecaille one, but neither is as moisturizing as this one is for me. A lot of people love Drunk Elephant Marula, but I haven’t tried it yet!

Is this one better than Drunk Elephant’s marula oil? That’s my current fave but I’m willing to try something new once I’m done.

      Hi Lexi,

I haven’t tried DE’s Marula so I can’t compare, unfortunately. Can any one else weigh in on this?

P.S. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I will be eating leftover T-Day lumpia for the next three days.

Hey Karen! Looong time reader, first time commenter ?. I love the Fresh Seaberry oil too! I mix it in with my nighttime moisturizers. As for the Drunk Elephant Marula Oil, I’ve tried it. I liked it, but I honestly can’t tell the difference between it and the organic Marula oil available on Amazon for a fraction of the price (DE is $72 for an ounce vs. about $25 for a 4 oz bottle from Amazon). I am a huge fan of other DE products. There’s a sample size bottle in one of the DE holiday kits currently at Sephora, so you could try the Marula oil along with other products and get a good bang for you buck. Happy Holidays from Kentucky!

I find the Marula Oil really sinks into my skin. I have tried a number of oils and I keep going back to Marula Beauty Oil that I buy from premierlook.com. I also tried Vintner’s Daughter. It was very nice but I still prefer Marula Oil. May Linstrom makes a beautiful and pricey oil, Skin Dew. It smells amazing. Another beautiful skin oil is made by de Mamiel . Their products are very lux and pricey. But, they are loaded with actives. Again, the smell is amazing. But, until I win the lottery I’ll stick with Marula Pure Beauty Oil.

I wish I’d seen this a few days ago when my poor nose was in the same shape. 🙁 Fresh is kind of hit or miss with me – same as DE. I’ve never tried either of these oils, though. I think I’m too prone to blackheads to have success with an oil, but could certainly be wrong!
